Smartist is an autonomous mobile robot that replaces a person – more precisely, an artist – and performs this person’s tasks. It lives in the exhibition area, where it roams freely and interacts with visitors as well as other artworks on display. Occasionally, the robot writes the signature of Nika Oblak and Primož Novak onto the gallery floor, turning it into Smartist’s signature.
