Vid Merlak
Vid Merlak (SI, 1995) works as a videographer, sound designer, visual artist, performer, VJ, DJ, and music producer. He graduated from SVŠGUGL, majoring in theatre and drama, where he participates as a mentor in semester productions. He is a student of Video and New Media at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design. In 2018, as one of the selected artists of the U30+ project, organised by the Aksioma Institute, he presented his short film Videno, which a year later was screened at the Slovenian Film Festival in Portorož, the Kino Otok International Film Festival, the Short Film Festival in Ljubljana, and was exhibited at the group exhibition "Hey, where are you now?" at the Maribor Art Gallery. In 2019, he presented the audio-visual installation V2V with Kristjan Dekleva in the project space osmo/za and participated as a music and video designer in the performance MEMEMEME by Jan Rozman, produced by the Emanat Institute. In 2020, as a music and video designer, he participated in Brina Klampfer's performance "For the Nation's Health" and in the performance, ZELDA, co-produced by the Slovenian Youth Theatre and Varje Hrvatin. He also worked as a video designer on the project Apofenija/I co-produced by Melara Institute, KonS, Moment Maribor, and Bunker.
