Lana Požlep
Lana Požlep (2000) is an interdisciplinary artist whose work is rooted in photography but extends to spatial arrangements, installations, sound and sound sculptures. In her work, she explores the structure and identity of the city, particularly the processes of construction and regeneration as a reflection of current economic and political decisions. She is interested in questions of urban identity, accessibility to the city centre, and the social practices and groups that are incorporated into its regenerated image or pushed to the margins. In her recent projects, she has addressed issues of ecosystem conservation, the use of space and the assessment of its loss. Požlep is currently completing her postgraduate studies in photography at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana, and has undertaken further training at UMPRUM in Prague. She is the recipient of the ALUO Prešeren Student Award for the project Ponjava 4, and has held solo exhibitions at P74 Gallery and DobraVaga Gallery in Ljubljana, at the Maribor Photography Festival and at the Budapest Gallery in Budapest. She has taken part in group exhibitions including Premiere – 5th Triennial of Young Artists, Different Worlds and Space with a Potentiality for a Shift.
