Dan Podjed
dr. Dan Podjed is an anthropologist, researcher at the Institute of Slovene Ethnology of the Scientific Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts and the Innovation and Development Institute of the University of Ljubljana, and an associate professor at the Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana. In the research field, he is focusing on the relationship between people and technologies, and he cooperates in the development of innovative products and services tailored to people and the planet. From 2010 to 2018, he was the head of the Network for Applied Anthropology of the European Association of Social Anthropologists and with it designed the international symposium Why the World Needs Anthropologists, which has been taking place since 2013. In 2019, he published the acclaimed book Videni (Seen), in which he explained why we are increasingly observed and displayed with the help of smartphones and other devices. A book Anthropology Between Four Walls was published in 2020, in which he presented how he got to know society and himself during the covid-19 pandemic.
