First media announcement on the MFRU Call 2023

In May, the public institution MKC Maribor announced the Call for Student Intermedia Projects for the Student Prize of the International Festival of Computer Art (MFRU) in 2023.

12 students with 11 artistic intermedia projects applied for the call: Maja Bojanić, Milena Jandrić, Tamara Kostrevc, Goro Modic, Pika Potočnik, Tomaž Pavšek, Tyana Rendič, Dragana Stanković, Elizaveta Stroganova, Tamara Taskova, Vita Tušek, Manca Žitnik.

A jury of experts - Miha Colner, Maja Smrekar and Aleksandra Saška Gruden - will examine the projects and propose the three best ones.

The three best projects will be awarded one main prize of EUR 400 gross and two prizes of EUR 300 gross. The author of the first prize-winning project will also be awarded a solo exhibition in one of the exhibition spaces of MKC Maribor in November 2024. All three prize-winning projects will be presented at the MFRU Festival in a group exhibition in Maribor, from 6 to 13 October 2023. MKC Maribor will provide the winning projects with the opportunity for the production of their original projects, as well as for their presentation and promotion.
