What lies beyond – and beneath – the screen? You are invited to join an artistic field workshop where, together, we will explore the material and sensory connections between nature and technology. Through slow observation, collecting natural materials, drawing and simple paper electronics experiments, we will investigate how natural resources are transformed into technology and how the idea of a circuit can be understood far beyond electronics – as a relationship, a pathway, a flow or a network of connections.
Monitronica (Monika Pocrnjić) is an intermedia artist, mentor and cultural producer from Maribor. In her work, she explores the intersections between drawing, electronics, natural materials and participatory artistic processes. Using DIY technologies, interactive objects, scenography and workshops, she creates situations which join observation, experimentation and collaborative exploration. Her practice stems from the materiality of technology and questions of how we can establish new connections between people, the environment and technological systems through art.
