Maja Smrekar
Through her work Maja Smrekar establishes post-medium artistic strategies, in which she develops projects that link areas of hybrid art, performance, installation, video, photography, and sound. She also contributes to the multimedia nature of the field through lectures, writing texts, and pedagogical work. Mdr. received the Prix Ars Electronica – Golden Nice 2017 award in 2017 for hybrid art (Linz/Austria), in 2018 she received the Prešeren Fund Award of the Republic of Slovenia (Ljubljana, Slovenia), in 2021 she received the Župančič Award from the City of Ljubljana expert commission of the Municipality of Ljubljana.
