Performance, video projections and literary reading by Dejan Koban

As part of this year's post-festival programme for the 27th International Festival of Computer Art (IFCA), MKC Črka and the Media Nox Gallery invites you to attend a mixture of performance, video projections and literary reading by Dejan Koban, which he will prepare in collaboration with a number of literary authors from all over Slovenia.

Pre_več (Too_much) is a living book of short poetry, created as tattoos on the body of the poet and performer Dejan Koban. His skin is currently adorned with twenty-seven original poems written for this purpose by twenty-seven Slovenian poets, which he presented live to the public this June at the ŠKUC Gallery in Ljubljana. In Maribor, he will present five new poems.

Pre_več explores the relationship between words, poems and their meanings on human skin, their expansion or contraction, the possibility of them blurring over the years. For this project, the author turned his skin into paper. Pre_več problematises sustainability, regret and responsibility. The performance will have been completed at the end of the author's life, when he intends to donate his skin to the Slovenian nation, specifically to the Modern Gallery and the Museum of Contemporary Art Metelkova in Ljubljana. His idea is that the poems on his skin will be tanned as hide and bound into a real book, of which a single copy will be published.

The event also features: Urška Preis with a spatial setup; Gaja Naja Rojec with the author's video of creating (i.e. tattooing) the poems; Nela Poberžnik with a video installation; Urša Majcen with a triple video and placement of her own poetry into space; and Nežka Struc with an installation of small Kobanček figurines. The following poets, who are the authors of the five new tattoos on the body of the poet and performer Dejan Koban, will also perform: Helena Zemljič, Nina Medved, Tonja Jelen, Nino Flisar and Tibor Hrs Pandur.
