konS / ALMA meets FLORA
18. 11. 2020 / 17:00
Location: konS - Platform for Contemporary Investigative Art

The workshop explores the still taboo experience of the intimate health of modern women. The purpose of the workshop is to identify the issues that touch our emotions, upbringing in the moments when our intimate everyday life is marked by inflammation. It is divided into three exercises that allow participants to discuss taboo topics and invent underwear, a menstrual cup and a tampon of the future. Alma meets Flora invites participants to co-create educational tools and methodologies and thus develop a language that will connect well-being in our society with caring for women’s intimate health.
The workshop is led by Giulia Tomasello, an interactive media designer who introduces innovations in the field of women’s health care by combining biotechnology and interactive wearable technology. Giulia connects design, technological inventions and science, breaking taboos about women’s bodies. She is the winner of the Re-FREAM and STARTS awards, which were awarded to her under the European program Horizon 20202 for her projects Alma and Future Flora. She is currently a guest lecturer at the Polytechnic University of Milan. The workshop is intended for anyone who identifies as a woman and who wishes to explore the above issues.
